Adding a repeated text overlay to a photo or a PDF is a drawing operation — one your own browser can already do. Some watermarking services charge per image or per month for bulk use; this tool does the same job for free, on one file at a time, with nothing uploaded.
Lower opacity (20-40%) keeps the underlying content fully readable while still marking it — good for documents. Higher opacity works better for a bold, hard-to-remove mark on images. A single centered watermark is quick; tiled/repeated watermarks are harder to crop out.
Is my file uploaded to a server? No — the watermark is applied entirely inside your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
Can I control how visible the watermark is? Yes — adjust the opacity slider from faint to fully solid, along with font size and rotation angle.
Does the PDF watermark apply to every page? Yes — the watermark text is applied to every page of the PDF in one pass.
Is there a limit on file size? There's no artificial daily limit — practical limits depend on your device's available memory for very large files.
| Setting | Suggestion |
|---|---|
| Opacity | Around 20–40% keeps the content readable while still visible. |
| Rotation | A diagonal angle such as 30–45° is hard to crop out and looks professional. |
| Position | Centre suits a single bold mark; Repeat (tiled) makes removal difficult. |
| Colour | Mid-grey works on most backgrounds; use white on dark images. |
A visible watermark discourages casual reuse but cannot stop a determined person, so keep your unmarked originals safe and share only the watermarked versions. For PDFs, the mark is added to every page, which makes it a good fit for confidential files you want to circulate. If you need to combine files first, use Merge PDF, then watermark the finished document.
Can I watermark with my logo? This tool adds text watermarks. For a logo, add it in an image editor or include your brand name as the watermark text.
Will the watermark reduce my image quality? The mark is drawn on top of the image, and the rest of the picture is kept as it is. Very strong compression settings in other tools are not part of this process.
Can someone remove the watermark? Tiled, semi-transparent marks are hard to remove cleanly, but no watermark is impossible to remove. Treat it as a deterrent, not as security.
